Cooking Classes at the Kitchen in German Village

The Kitchen

Recently, I participated in a hands-on cooking class at The Kitchen in German Village and let me say, I’ve been missing out. Like a warm memory that’s meant to be shared, that’s how The Kitchen will make you feel.

My boyfriend, Lawrence, and I shared this cooking experience together. Business owners, Anne Boninsegna and Jen Lindsey introduced the class as a way for guests to feel relaxed and comfortable. There is no right or wrong way, the outcome of what you cook is what it’s supposed to be.

From this class, I learned that it’s important to cook with purpose and passion because that’s a recipe for a good meal. The Kitchen will not only slow you down, but it will force you to be conscious in the decisions you make as you cook. The ingredients are measured out for you and you cook in groups to prepare each dish.

Our menu was completely gluten-free which consisted of zucchini fritters, apple and pumpkin squash couscous kale salad, chicken pot pie, and flour-less chocolate cake. The entire dinner was delicious and it felt so rewarding to cook a dish that contributed to the group meal.

Anne and Jen started their business with a passion for people and food and it truly shows in the way they work together. They were engaged in the entire process and constantly made sure we had everything we needed to be successful. “The participatory classes are my favorite and allow you to engage with other people in the class and become connected,” – said Jen.

The Kitchen is a unique experience meant to be shared with close friends and complete strangers. If you’ve never experienced cooking at The Kitchen – you need to schedule your first class today! They also do private events, Yoga and Brunch with Native Cold Press on Sundays once a month, $10 for 10 wines, and Taco Tuesdays.

The Kitchen supports the City of Columbus, their surrounding communities and entrepreneurs looking to grow their business. “Collaboration is where it’s at and that’s where we’re at universally,” – said Jen. Thank you so much Jen and Anne for an unforgettable evening. I had a great time, and Lawrence and I will definitely be back.
